Recently, Shandong Linglong Tyre Co., Ltd. has passed the assessment of the executive committee of the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR) to qualify as a member and successfully joined GPSNR to formulate the Sustainable Natural Rubber Policy. LingLong has been the first Chinese GPSNR member in the tire industry. 

GPSNR, an independent non-profit organisation, established by the tire industry sector of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), with the purpose of improving the social economy and environmental performance of the natural rubber supply chain. It aims at creating a fair, equitable and environmentally-friendly natural rubber value chain. At present, the leading automakers and tire makers are actively seeking sustainable development through the platform of GPSNR.

 As a leading enterprise in the tire industry in China, Linglong has upheld the value of sustainability for long. With the joining of GPSNR, Linglong Tire has participated in the formulation of the Sustainable Natural Rubber Policy in areas of ecosystem protection, human rights protection, supply chain management, improvement of production efficiency, sustainable development of natural rubber, optimization of the supply chain, humanitarian care and low-carbon development on all channels.

Natural rubber is a key raw material for tire production. As with the continuous development of transportation, global tire demand is on the rise, prompting the demand for natural rubber consumption. Due to contingent issues such as the increasing shortage of natural rubber supply, the sustainability of natural rubber exploration has become paramount.

As part of the efforts of developing alternative replacement to natural rubber, Linglong has developed dandelion rubber amongst other R&D break-throughs. In the future, Linglong Tire will play an active role in the programme of GPSNR, continue to practice the Sustainable Natural Rubber Policy, promote deeper stakeholders-engagement, build a sustainable natural rubber supply chain, as well as contribute to the sustainable development of global natural rubber and environment protection.
